When two have a major irreconcilable dispute, each accusing the other of lying, they come together with their supporters, and pray for the curse of Allah to come down upon the transgressor from the among them.
Yes it's fought with prayer and not guns and pistols, but it functions on the same principle you describe, that of God sorting out in front of the people who was right and who was wrong by the means of the defeat of the transgressor.
