So, you were linked from the New Right Poast, but then the article didn't load and I can't find anything related to the headline, so I'm assuming you rescinded it. That's a thing, no judgement.

But I decided to poke around anyway, and this article was the most recent one, as far as I can tell, months old now. GREAT read, glad I fell into this. I'm Catholic, I admit to being very ignorant about Islam, from doctrine to factions to ... all the "being in the driver's seat of Islam" stuff. I do know a good bit of their history from 600 up to the modern day, of course I've only read the European takes of it, but there's plenty of positive too. Great philosophers, mathematicians, brilliant military strategists, etc. it's a... obviously we have mutually exclusive religions, but looking at it as a civilization, I give the Arab world respect where it is due, historically.

From this read, which 90% of it really resonates with me, I feel like you relate to the feeling I had, as a religious Catholic being raised in a Protesta--er sorry, "secular" and I swear Progressivism isn't just Universalist Unitarianist Quakerism rebranded to take the "God" part out-- America, I always felt like there was a backhanded acknowledgement that Catholicism played a serious, key role in the development of the west, but all they ever focused on was their faults. Like any nation made of humans, obviously it will be full of them. But there was no even-handed review, no admitting to the wins, chief among them that it was the Crusades that united and saved Europe from being curb-stomped by the Muslims (gotta admit they were worthy opponents), but primordial-woke Enlightment thought twisted that into ingratitude, framed it as just more white people trying to go colonize brown people... But I also know that with an objective eye to the past, I feel like you would be the kind to say Look. That was all the past. That's what men and religions do, they make war, you gotta take the good with the bad. We don't *have* to fight each other about it now. I sense you might have that holistic view of history especially from your distanced perspective of the current Middle East conflict. But I started that paragraph trying to say, the Gay Race Communism narrative of our respective religions and former empires just didn't sit with us as being honest nor objective, does that sound accurate? So we always smelled something off, and falling into a red-pill zone finally confirmed our suspicions. (Apologies if I'm making too many assumptions on your part, or being too forward in trying to relate.)

I admit, I've been in this Dissident Right sphere for almost a decade now too, and I think you might be the first Muslim I've stumbled into. But it's refreshing to see your faith expressed here. It feels like my version of Catholic religiosity, it's realistic, it's deep, it's not blindly passionate either. In a word, based.

And as far as the aftermath of Oct. 7 has gone, I was surprised to see the Online Right fracture the way it did, with a wealth of varied perspectives on the whole thing. I expected uniform support for Israel, and while there was still plenty, there was a *lot* of criticism, of them, their state, and America's role in prolonging the conflict (the momentum having been built by America *well* before this round), and general grift from every angle on it. It's fascinating, and to me, impressive and reassuring that the whole corner of the internet didn't just have its bottom fall out from under them, rather, it's spurred a whole other series of good questions to ponder.

Most importantly, like you, the Roman Empire to Byzantine decline yet salvation metaphor is one I would like to see happen as well. Good comparison. Cheers, and happy to make your acquaintance.
